Harbor Sailboats’ offers a competitive and fun “One Design” racing program with it’s fleet of 14 Capri 22’s. Build camaraderie among friends while experiencing the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat in this exhilarating sport. Award ceremonies and dock parties follow each race. Sign up for race clinics and get your game on!
In addition to year round Capri 22 Racing and FT10 Flying Tiger clinics and match racing, Harbor Sailboats participates with a “club boat” offering crew positions to members in the following San Diego Cortez Racing Association races: Newport to Ensenada, San Diego to Ensenada and the Los Coronados Race Around the Islands.

They are well designed with large cockpits, roller-furling
135% genoas. Great for racing and easy to maneuver with
a tiller and outboard.

FT10 Flying Tiger Spinnaker Clinic |

Join Captain Logan McDuffey for this hands-on "Flying Tiger Spinnaker Clinic". Learn and practice rigging, hoisting, jibing and dousing an asymmetrical spinnaker, while expanding your knowledge of sail trim and sailing upwind on a performance race boat.

We offer a variety of racing clinics year around. Each clinic is designed to increase racers performance and over sailing ability.

Tips & Tricks Racing Clinic: Learn more about boat set-up, starts, body positioning, boat speed and balance, sail trim and more. This clinic is free to all racers participating in a Capri 22 racing series.

Understanding the Racing Rules of Sailing: This clinic is designed to give an immediate boost in understanding rules and boat handling skills. Diagrams and handouts will be provided to illustrate some of the tricky situations where the rules can be complicated.
Racing Rules of Sailing, by Dave Perry is included in the cost of this classroom clinic.

Sail Trim: Learn more about the importance of sail trim and become a stronger, faster sailor; skilled crew/sail handlers relish the rewarding process of optimizing sail trim and boat speed.

One Design” Workshop: Understand the basics of racing, learn some new tips & tricks or refine current skills. Classroom overview, on-the-water workshop and actual racing will be included in this informative clinic. This clinic generally runs one week before each race series.

Introduction Buddy Race:
Seasoned Capri 22 racers will be teamed up with "Newbie" racers who want to give Capri 22 racing a try. Participate in race preparation, boat handling, sail trim, starting procedures and racing techniques.

The Harbor Sailboats Bulletin Board is for "Members Only" and allows the opportunity to contact other members in regards to "looking for skippers and/or crew." This is the most effective way to increase on-the-water time at all levels and a great way to meet other sailors.

Private coaching is available to improve overall racing performance on a Capri 22.
Bring one of Harbor Sailboats’ coaches onboard to practice and work with you and your crew to fine tune your performance. Our coaches will help you make significant improvements in boat speed and teamwork.
